Raleigh IT Support ExpertGreetings!

I hope everyone has had a fun, safe, and relaxing summer.

Here at CSP, the past few months have been busy. We’ve continued to add new Managed Services customers, new team members, and new processes to provide the best support we can. In between, I am pleased to report that our team members have also been able to stagger some vacations for well-deserved R&R.

The pinnacle of summer for many is the 4th of July. While this holiday is a celebration of our freedom, this summer has also provided too many stark reminders of the ever-growing threats that confront our nation. Specifically, cybercrime is at an all-time high. While a lot of people assume that hackers are attacking governments or large, multi-national corporations, small businesses are a prime target. According to the National Cyber Security Alliance, 20% of all small business are hacked each year. Besides being a headache, there is a significant financial impact to the victims. The same study found that 60% of hacked small businesses go bankrupt within 6 months.

Therefore, in this month’s newsletter our Virtual CIO, Michael Bowman, highlights the Crypto Threat and what you can do to best protect your business. The threat is real, as we have had three customers in the past week be targeted. I would urge everyone to take this threat seriously and educate your users on this reality.

Besides this feature article on security, this newsletter also recaps a recent Lunch N Learn on Hosted Voice, introduces you to a new team member, Carl Hardy, and highlights a local event CSP was proud to help sponsor. We hope you find the content useful and informative.

As always, thanks for all that you do with CSP. We’re honored to be a part of the fabric of this community and serve so many great organizations. Please let me know if there is anything we can do to improve your experience.

Thanks,

Stephen Riddick
